Mango (Amba): Sri Lanka has a wide variety of mangoes, with over 20 different types. Mangoes from Sri Lanka are known for their strong aroma, intense peel color, distinct taste, and high nutritional value.Mangoes are one of the most popular and culturally significant fruits in Sri Lanka, deeply woven into the island's culinary traditions. The Sinhala word for mango is "Amba".

Banana (Kehel):Banana, known as "Kehel"  in Sinhala, is one of the most important and widely consumed fruit crops in Sri Lanka. It holds significant cultural, economic, and dietary importance across the island. Sri Lanka boasts a remarkable diversity of banana varieties, each with unique characteristics in terms of taste, texture, size, and even color.

Papaya (Gas Labu/Papaw):Papaya, known as "Gas Labu"  or "Papol"  in Sinhala, is a ubiquitous and highly valued fruit in Sri Lanka. It's a staple in both ripe and unripe forms, offering a range of culinary uses and significant health benefits.

Jackfruits : Jackfruit, locally known as "Kos" in Sinhala, holds a very special and significant place in Sri Lankan cuisine, culture, and even history. Locally, it's commonly referred to as "Mangus".The mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) is an evergreen tree believed to be native to Southeast Asia, thriving in Sri Lanka's warm, humid, and tropical climate.

Soursop : Soursop, known as "Katu Anoda"  or simply "Anoda" in Sinhala, is a fascinating tropical fruit that is gaining increasing popularity in Sri Lanka, not just for its unique flavor but also for its perceived medicinal properties. It belongs to the Annonaceae family, which also includes the custard apple.

Veralu (Ceylon Olive): Ceylon Olive, locally known as "Veralu"  in Sinhala, is a distinctive and highly valued fruit in Sri Lanka. While it shares the "olive" name, it belongs to a completely different botanical family (Elaeocarpaceae) than the common Mediterranean olive (Olea europaea) and has its own unique characteristics and uses.

Naminam : Naminam, known as "Nam-Nam" in Sinhala, is a lesser-known but fascinating fruit found in Sri Lanka. While not as common or commercially cultivated as fruits like mango or banana, it's a unique part of the island's biodiversity and is often found in home gardens or growing wild.

Velvet Tamarind : Velvet Tamarind, known as "Gal Siyambala"  in Sinhala, is a unique and beloved fruit in Sri Lanka, especially popular among children and those who appreciate a distinct sweet-and-sour taste. Despite its name, it's not closely related to the common tamarind (Siyambala) but belongs to a different family (Fabaceae, genus Dialium). The Sinhala name "Gal Siyambala" literally translates to "pebble tamarind," referring to its small, hard, pebble-like appearance.

Uguressa: Uguressa , often referred to as Governor's Plum, Indian Plum, or Madagascar Plum in English, is a small, round berry-like fruit commonly found in Sri Lanka. It's cherished for its unique taste and the traditional way it's prepared before consumption.

Rambutan: Rambutan , an exotic and visually striking fruit, is one of Sri Lanka's most beloved tropical delights. Its vibrant, hairy exterior and succulent, sweet flesh make it a seasonal favorite for both locals and tourists.

Pineapple:Pineapple, known as "Annasi"  in Sinhala, is a highly popular and commercially significant fruit in Sri Lanka. It's cherished for its juicy, sweet, and tangy flavor, making it a refreshing treat consumed widely across the island.
